When Curiosity Cracks Open The Window

ree

When we first met Maria, she had just learned her role would be eliminated. The bitterness was heavy. She felt invisible .Disposable.

Weeks later, over coffee, she confides to a friend:“I don’t know how to move through this. I just know I can’t keep going in circles in my own head.”

Her friend nods. “I remember when I was facing a big career shift. Coaching helped me. At first, I was hesitant too — but what surprised me was how it opened a window I hadn’t seen before. A window into new energy, fresh creativity, possibilities I couldn’t have imagined on my own.”

Maria is quiet for a moment. Then she says softly,“Could you share your coach’s contact information with me?”

It’s not a grand leap. It’s a small, brave step. And often, that’s where transformation begins.

I’ve seen this same moment in my students, too — when the job offer they counted on was rescinded, or when the internship they thought would become a full-time role simply didn’t. The sting is real. But sometimes it’s that sting that cracks the door for new possibility.

And here’s the truth: it takes courage to face an unexpected ending.Courage to sit with the loss, and courage to begin imagining something new. That courage grows stronger when you remember you already hold skills, experience, and a network that can be leveraged into what’s next.

If you can relate to Maria’s story, let’s chat.I’d be honored to meet you in the threshold of your own shift.
